Apple is set to release its new budget phone, the iPhone 17E, later this month, with preorders now available.

Apple’s latest week of product announcements began with the unveiling of the iPhone 17E, a more affordable option for those not willing to spend over $700 on a new phone. While it launches officially on March 11th, preorders are now open at Best Buy, Apple’s online store, and carriers such as T-Mobile.

The 6.1-inch iPhone 17E, priced from $599, offers several upgrades over the iPhone 16E, including 256GB of base storage and MagSafe compatibility. It runs on the same A19 chip as the iPhone 17, promising improved performance. Its Ceramic Shield 2 display adds durability, and it features a 48-megapixel fusion camera.

While our full review is pending, the iPhone 17E appears to be a simplified, more economical version of the iPhone 17 with a good feel in hand. Preorders are now available from Apple and Best Buy, offering options in black, pink, or white, with 256GB storage starting at $599. A 512GB version is available for $799.

Various US carriers also have deals: T-Mobile offers it free with trade-in and plan activation, Verizon provides it free with new unlimited plan lines, and AT&T offers it from $5.99 per month with new line activation or eligible upgrade, alongside potential Visa rewards and bill credits for switching carriers.

Update: Details added for preorder offers from Verizon and AT&T.
