Photography and videos are merely a moment away with the VIVE Eagle.

HTC has unveiled its latest creation, the VIVE Eagle, a pair of AI-enhanced smart glasses that enable users to operate them entirely through voice commands. These glasses come equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, allowing users to effortlessly capture photos and videos. Moreover, the VIVE Eagle provides a rich audio experience for music enthusiasts.

Crafted in a “premium” open-ear design, the VIVE Eagle guarantees comfort with adjustable temples and nosepads. The glasses are presently available for pre-order in Taiwan at NT$15,600, approximately $518.

HTC’s entry into the smart glasses market signifies a new path for the company, which has been traditionally recognized for its VR headsets. The VIVE Eagle, characterized as “AI-driven wearable eyewear,” symbolizes HTC’s foray into intelligent living and personal wearables.

Weighing only 49 grams, the VIVE Eagle incorporates ZEISS sun lenses that offer UV protection without compromising optical clarity. The glasses also boast voice-activated AI, compatible with Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, enabling users to capture moments with simple voice commands such as “Hey VIVE, take a photo.”

In addition to photography, the VIVE Eagle can record reminders, jot down notes, and accomplish other tasks via voice commands. The glasses are also equipped with large acoustic drivers and virtual bass for superior audio quality, reducing sound leakage while ensuring users remain cognizant of their environment.

HTC prioritizes privacy, with the VIVE Eagle utilizing AES-256 encryption to safeguard locally stored data. The company guarantees that user content is never uploaded, tracked, or utilized for AI model training.

The VIVE Eagle offers real-time translation for 13 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Thai, and Turkish. This feature translates captured content and plays it through the glasses’ speakers.

With a 235mAh battery, the VIVE Eagle provides up to 36 hours of standby time and roughly 4.5 hours of continuous music playback. The glasses can achieve a 50% charge in just 10 minutes.

Currently available in Taiwan, the VIVE Eagle is offered in Berry, Coffee, Grey, and Black. There is no information available on global release yet.
