Initial rumors indicate that Huawei is working on its upcoming tri-fold smartphone.
These claims emerged from a reputable Chinese insider, Digital Chat Station (DCS), on Weibo (via Android Headlines). The source suggests that Huawei is creating a follow-up to its Mate XT tri-fold, potentially named the “Mate XT 2,” if we consider naming conventions. There are reportedly additional enhancements concerning the hardware of this new device.
DCS contends that the tri-fold could feature a completely new, upgraded SoC (processor), likely based on an “N-1” generation chip. In response to a question, DCS noted the possibility of the chip being Huawei’s Kirin 9020. Furthermore, the phone’s photographic capabilities could receive a boost, although it’s uncertain how far Huawei is prepared to advance its camera technology.
