Important: Granola Notes Are Public by Default with Link

1 Min Read

The AI-powered note-taking app Granola enables AI training by default for non-enterprise users. Granola, described as an “AI notepad for people in back-to-back meetings,” integrates with your calendar to capture audio, generate AI-powered summaries, and facilitate collaboration. However, by default, Granola settings allow notes to be publicly viewable with a shared link, posing potential privacy risks. Users can change settings to limit access or make notes completely private. Granola uses anonymized data for AI improvement, opting enterprise users out by default. Data is stored securely in a US-hosted AWS private cloud, and only meeting notes and transcripts are saved, not meeting audio.
