iOS 27 Set to Unveil Three Major AI Functionalities, As Per Report

Apple is already diligently preparing for the launch of iOS 27 next year, and a recent report outlines three significant new AI features slated for the update.

### Apple Intelligence will receive three new additions in iOS 27

Last week in his *Power On* newsletter, Mark Gurman hinted that iOS 27, macOS 27, and more would provide “substantial updates to Apple Intelligence and the overarching AI strategy.”

While no specifics were disclosed, this was significant because not long before the unveiling of iOS 27 in June, Apple is anticipated to introduce substantial enhancements to Siri.

iOS 26.4 is expected to be released in March or April, and all indications suggest it will be one of the most considerable updates for Apple Intelligence yet due to the Siri revamp.

Now, Gurman has begun revealing what’s on the horizon for iOS 27.

In this weekend’s newsletter at *Bloomberg*, three new AI features for iOS 27 are emphasized:

1. Siri visual makeover
2. AI-driven web search tool
3. AI assistant that aids users in managing their health

Here’s what Gurman stated:

> As I’ve mentioned before, a new Siri is expected to arrive with iOS 26.4, and the voice assistant will undergo a redesign in iOS 27. There are also initiatives for an AI-driven web search tool. But let’s concentrate on a feature I haven’t mentioned in some time: an updated Health app featuring a new Health+ service. It will incorporate an AI agent that assists users in managing their health. If it proves successful, the service could position Apple as one of the first major tech companies to gain traction in the health AI chatbot domain.

Unlike the various additions to Apple Intelligence in iOS 26, most of which are relatively minor upgrades, these three alterations do signify potentially larger cornerstones to engage users.

### 9to5Mac’s Perspective

Previously, Gurman has discussed Apple’s intentions for a Siri redesign that would introduce a “visual personality to make it feel more lifelike.” The company has seemingly tested making Siri resemble the Finder’s icon.

It appears unusual that Apple would release significant new Siri updates in iOS 26.4 and then redesign it visually in iOS 27. However, this might be a strategy for the company.

By enhancing Siri without an extensive redesign, Apple can better manage user expectations. Then, if that spring update fulfills its promises, following it with a visual upgrade would seem logical as a method to demonstrate to the public that Siri is indeed new and enhanced.

In any event, it certainly sounds like 2026 could be a pivotal year for Apple Intelligence.
