Jimmy Kimmel returned from a week-long break, quickly addressing President Donald Trump’s actions during Easter. On Easter Sunday, Trump posted a threat on Truth Social about a large-scale attack on Iran’s infrastructure scheduled for Tuesday, followed by another post simply stating, “Tuesday, 8 P.M. Eastern Time!”
“He’s the only president who teases a bombing like it’s a TV show promo,” joked Kimmel.
At the White House Easter Egg Roll, Trump delivered a speech about the U.S. conflict with Iran beside someone in an Easter Bunny suit, a moment Kimmel found absurd. The president also complained to children about former president Joe Biden.
“I assure you, these words from the president were not altered,” Kimmel said. “This isn’t AI or a Trump impersonator.”
Specifically, Trump criticized Biden’s use of an autopen, a device that signs documents for someone. While the autopen is legally acceptable for signing bills, Trump used its use as a reason to void pardons Biden issued, despite U.S. law not requiring pardons to be written or signed to be valid.
“It’s hard to believe it was just a week off,” Kimmel remarked. “So much happened while we were away.”
