Most prominent politicians receive the John Oliver treatment at some point, and on Sunday it was the vice president’s turn.
The Last Week Tonight host spends almost half an hour criticizing JD Vance, covering topics from his complete reversal on Donald Trump to his views on immigration and people without children.
“It is important to remember who JD Vance actually is, as he presents himself as an anti-elitist man of the people, but much of his career has been funded by tech billionaires,” Oliver states. “He defends Alex Jones, advocating grace for those partially right, but disparages childless people as sociopaths and the left as un-human. He shows empathy for unconventional thinkers but criticizes immigrants as a societal negative — it’s not hard to see the difference between these groups.”
