Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has recently shared details regarding Apple’s changing strategies for touch screen MacBooks, highlighting notable developments within the supply chain. Kuo mentions that the forthcoming OLED MacBook Pro, anticipated to begin production in late 2026, will incorporate a touch screen panel, representing a significant transformation in Apple’s laptop range.
This advancement corresponds with prior forecasts by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who initially reported on the prospects of touch screens on Macs two years prior. Nonetheless, it remains unclear if the OLED MacBook Pro will launch in 2026 or if it will debut in early 2027.
At present, Apple features the M4 MacBook Pro series, and the release of the OLED MacBook Pro is expected to be two generations down the line. The immediate outlook includes an update to the series with new M5 processors, likely arriving early next year. Following that, the revamped OLED MacBook Pro model is predicted to be equipped with M6 chips.
