Samsung’s future line-up of foldable gadgets might have a set release date. As per the Korea Economic Times, relayed by 9to5google, Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is slated for July 22 in London. Typically, these Galaxy Unpacked events serve as platforms for unveiling Samsung’s flagship mobile products, with one event usually occurring early in the year followed by another during the summer. The initial event this year took place in February, suggesting the upcoming event at the end of July could align with this tradition.
For the July event, a range of foldable devices is anticipated. Reports indicate a successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, likely named the Galaxy Z Fold 8, will debut. Additionally, there is speculation about the launch of a new device, possibly called the “Wide Fold,” aimed at rivaling the purportedly upcoming iPhone Fold. While the Z Flip series wasn’t mentioned, omitting a Galaxy Z Flip 8 would be unexpected. There’s also potential for new Galaxy Watch editions, as they often accompany summer Unpacked events.
Regarding other features, Samsung plans to integrate S Pen support into at least one upcoming device. It seems plausible the Wide Fold might be this device, given its expected large screen size.
As the tech community anticipates Apple’s iPhone Fold, Samsung’s latest foldables have garnered positive feedback, especially the Galaxy Z Fold 7, regarded as the top choice among current folding phones due to its sleek design. Samsung aims to sustain this renown for Android users into 2026.
