The informant who initially disclosed the name of the iPhone 16e is now indicating that interest in the device has been quite minimal. Nonetheless, they assert that despite this limitation, Apple is currently still intending to move forward with its plans for the iPhone 17e.
They additionally mention that production of the iPhone Air has now completely halted, following a prior report indicating that output levels had been significantly reduced.
## The iPhone 16e
The iPhone 16E took the place of the iPhone SE as Apple’s entry-level option, aimed at attracting Android users who were reluctant to spend the higher prices associated with flagship iPhone devices.
While the iPhone SE was updated at irregular intervals, the name iPhone 16E appeared to strongly suggest annual updates. It was the leaker Fixed Focus Digital who first disclosed the name before the device was officially revealed, and who later identified signs of plans for yearly refreshes.
Reports have indicated that the version set to release next year will be a fairly modest update expected to debut in the spring.
## Leaker states demand is low
The same source now states that the iPhone 16e is not performing well in sales, but the schedule for the 17e will proceed as planned.

## iPhone Air production has now stopped
It was reported last month that iPhone Air orders had been reduced to nearly end-of-production levels. Fixed Focus Digital confirms that manufacturing of the device has now completely halted.

It remains unclear whether this stoppage is permanent, meaning no more models will be produced, or if it is merely a pause while Apple attempts to resolve a backlog of inventory.
A significant factor contributing to the limited appeal of the ultra-sleek model seems to be the limitation of just a single camera. It was recently noted that Apple is now considering a second-generation model featuring two cameras instead of one and has postponed the planned launch for this reason.
