Lenovo is introducing five new ThinkPads and a ThinkBook laptop at MWC 2026, featuring new chip options and upgrades. Among these, the X13 Detachable stands out as the most intriguing, marking a significant update to Lenovo’s tablet-style ThinkPad since the X12 Detachable.
The new models and their starting prices are:
– ThinkPad T14S Gen 7 ($1,899)
– ThinkPad T14S 2-in-1 Gen 2 ($1,849)
– ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 ($1,799)
– ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 ($1,799)
– ThinkPad X13 Detachable ($1,999)
– ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 6 ($1,754)
The X13 Detachable features Intel Panther Lake chips, a larger 13-inch touchscreen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, resolution of 2880 x 1920, and 120Hz refresh rate. Its keyboard cover has enhanced keycaps and deeper 1.5mm key travel, resembling traditional ThinkPad keyboards. The stylus is now housed and charged within the keyboard, eliminating the need for a AAAA battery.
The ThinkPad T14 and T16 have smaller bezels and configurable Intel or AMD chips, using LPCAMM2 RAM for efficiency and repairability, with user-replaceable batteries. The T14S is lightweight at 2.43 pounds and offers diverse processor options, including Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm chips. It also has a heavier 2-in-1 version with Intel chips, as does the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1.
All laptops run Windows 11, with the T14, T14S, T16, and X13 Detachable also available with Linux except Qualcomm-based T14S. They’re set to release in Q2 2026, except the X13 Detachable, launching in Q3.
