Businesses Get an August Update for Improved Management of Violations and Reports
Meta has revealed an update to its Brand Rights Protection tools, designed to assist businesses in handling violations and reports more efficiently. This update, launched on August 11, brings several new functionalities based on user input, aimed at streamlining the management of brand rights concerns.
Notable updates feature a redesigned “Request” tab, formerly known as “Drafts,” which now includes new sub-tabs for various types of violations such as Copyright, Counterfeit, Impersonation, and Trademark. This modification offers businesses a clearer perspective on different violations, facilitating more efficient management.
The Reports tab has also been upgraded with new filtering options, allowing users to search by email report IDs, keywords, trademark names, and report owner names. These enhancements are intended to ease the takedown request process and improve the reporting landscape, enabling businesses to flag suspected scam ads more efficiently.
Moreover, Meta has added an “Other” violation type option, applicable for ads that do not expressly utilize a business’s intellectual property but are presumed scams or misleading ads. This feature is especially beneficial for identifying ads that may reference a business’s name without authorization.
For businesses utilizing Meta Managed Accounts (MMA), the update permits login to the Brand Rights Protection dashboard with single sign-on (SSO), removing the necessity for a personal Facebook account. This alteration aims to enhance the user experience for businesses overseeing their brand rights on Meta platforms.
These updates are being implemented across all Meta platforms, including in Canada, and are anticipated to be accessible to businesses throughout the week. As Meta continues to refine its tools, businesses can also take advantage of its generative AI features, which aid in creating new ads and modifying images, laying a robust foundation for advertisers.
In summary, Meta’s latest update underscores its dedication to helping businesses safeguard their brand rights and manage violations more effectively.
