Microsoft Appoints New Copilot Leader Following AI Leadership Reshuffle

1 Min Read

Microsoft is reorganizing its AI responsibilities following the retirement of a veteran executive. The company is reshuffling its leadership to unify efforts in developing its Copilot assistant across consumer and commercial sectors. Mustafa Suleyman, previously focused on Copilot’s consumer features, will now concentrate on developing Microsoft’s AI models. Jacob Andreou will take charge of the Copilot experience, reporting to CEO Satya Nadella, and will oversee design, product, growth, and engineering for Copilot. Nadella declared that this change aims to create a more integrated system, combining the Copilot experience, platform, Microsoft 365 apps, and AI models into a unified effort. The leadership team now includes Andreou, Ryan Roslansky, Perry Clarke, and Charles Lamanna. This restructuring coincides with the retirement of Rajesh Jha and Phil Spencer, signaling more team changes as Microsoft approaches its new fiscal year. It remains unclear how this reorganization will impact Microsoft Edge, Bing, MSN, and their associated ad businesses, which previously reported to Suleyman.
