The Copilot buttons are being removed from Notepad, Snipping Tool, Photos, and Widgets. Microsoft has eliminated these “unnecessary” buttons in some Windows 11 applications. The latest Notepad version for Windows Insiders has replaced the Copilot button with a “writing tools” menu. The Snipping Tool app no longer shows the Copilot button when capturing an area. This change is part of Microsoft’s initiative to reduce unnecessary features as part of their plan to improve Windows 11. Although the buttons are being removed, AI features remain available. In Notepad, while the Copilot button is gone, the AI-driven writing tools provide similar options. The potential removal of Copilot button requirements from laptop keyboards and reducing other Copilot functions in Windows 11 is awaited.
