Microsoft has unveiled a new AI feature called Copilot Tasks designed to handle routine tasks for users. The system operates through a cloud-based platform, allowing it to complete tasks such as scheduling, creating study plans, and more while the user focuses on other activities. Users can instruct Copilot Tasks using natural language for one-time, recurring, or scheduled tasks, and it will provide reports once the tasks are complete. Capabilities of Copilot include managing subscriptions, turning emails and attachments into slide decks, and handling various personal planning needs such as organizing events or monitoring apartment listings. Microsoft’s introduction of Copilot Tasks serves as a competitor to recent AI developments like Claude Cowork and Google’s Gemini-powered features. The feature is currently in a research preview phase, accessible only to a limited group of testers, with a public waitlist available on Microsoft’s website.
