The wireless gamepad performs excellently on the Steam Deck and PC, just as it does on the Xbox Series X/S.

Microsoft’s Xbox console strategy may require improvement, but the Bluetooth-enabled controller bundled with the Xbox Series X and Series S is exceptional. It’s considered one of the best Xbox controllers due to its comfortable design, multiplatform compatibility (works well on Steam Deck and PC, too), and its textured grips and triggers that prevent slipping during intense gameplay.

Fortunately, the Xbox Wireless Controller is available at a discount in various colors ahead of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale. The black version is currently at the lowest price of the year at Amazon, Walmart, and Target, dropping from $64.99 to $43.49. The white version is slightly cheaper by $0.49 at Amazon and Walmart. Additionally, there’s a deal on a bundle with the black model and a USB-C cable, which allows connection without AA batteries. This package costs $44.99, down from $64.99, available at Amazon.

The official Xbox Wireless Controller features a share button for saving clips and screenshots online, Bluetooth support, and a USB-C port for Microsoft’s rechargeable battery.

The Xbox controller is also an excellent Nintendo Switch 2 controller option. Instead of purchasing an expensive Switch 2 Pro controller, you can get the 8BitDo’s $20 USB Adapter 2, connect it to your console’s dock, and pair the Xbox controller with it. While useful, the adapter supports only one controller at a time.
