The latest hacker tool, DarkSword, can steal data from an iPhone simply by visiting a website. Google, along with cybersecurity firms Lookout and iVerify, warns of this new exploit affecting iOS versions 18.4 to 18.7. With 25% of iPhones using these versions, hundreds of millions are at risk. Unlike typical malware, DarkSword does not require installation; it captures and exfiltrates data before deleting itself. It targets call logs, contacts, photos, and more. Google’s report highlights past attacks on Saudi and Ukrainian users. DarkSword’s ease of access raises concerns of further exploits.
