Samsung has recently filed for a new device registration in South Korea under the title “Galaxy Z Trifold” and has sought a trademark, indicating the possibility that the company may keep this name. This prospective entry into the Galaxy Z lineup is rumored to have two hinges, corroborating earlier speculations. The device, likely to make its debut in South Korea and China, might not see an initial release in Europe or the US. The model number SM-F968N and the codename Q7M have been linked to the trifold, which is anticipated to launch by the end of the year. Samsung’s TM Roh mentioned that the tri-fold phone could be unveiled this year, although the name is still not confirmed. Speculation suggests the phone may sport a 10-inch display when opened, a bulkier form factor compared to Huawei’s Mate XT, and a 6.49-inch external display, potentially lacking S-Pen support. Recent revelations of One UI 8 animations allude to the trifold’s folding mechanism, showcasing two inward-folding hinges. In the meantime, TECNO has introduced its Phantom Ultimate G Fold concept, which features a similar inward folding style.
