Google introduced three new Gemini-powered features for Google TV, including AI-driven visual responses, in-depth exploration of nearly any topic, and narrated sports game overviews. One standout feature is visual responses. For instance, asking about the Warriors game score will display live scorecards and viewing options. Users can also search for recipes, with Gemini providing video tutorials. At CES 2026, Google TV presented “deep dives,” allowing users to delve into complex topics with narrated visual summaries on subjects like health and wellness, economics, and technology. Users can select “Dive deeper” or navigate to the Gemini tab for more insights. For sports fans, “sports briefs” offer narrated overviews of events in leagues like the NBA, NHL, and MLB, providing highlights and updates without watching every moment. These features are rolling out in the U.S. and Canada, with plans to expand to Australia, New Zealand, and the U.K. in spring, followed by more countries. Gemini first appeared on Google TV in September 2025 for select TCL televisions and has since expanded to more hardware, including updates like natural language settings adjustments and voice-activated Google Photos searches.
