A love story. With a matchmaker. And an RTX 3090.
There are times in your career that don’t feel like choices but rather destiny unfolding. This is one of those times. Coincidentally, as my life is filled with significant dates, I’m sharing this at the intersection of Women’s History Month and the anniversary of my boldest move.
On April 1st, 2013, I left the Bay Area for LA, chasing my dream of shaking up Hollywood. No safety net. Thirteen years later, here I am announcing a new chapter, and again, this is no joke.

I’m Nicki Sun, excited to join Puget Systems as their Head of Media Production.
This story has been years in the making.
The Moment I Realized Something Was Missing
In 2018, I was emcee at Post | Production World at NAB Show, doing what I love. But afterward, I realized I didn’t see myself, or other women, represented in tech marketing and panels. I thought: where are we? How do I connect with more of us?
This sparked a fire. In Women’s History Month 2019, I launched TechNicki Speaking, starting with an interview with iJustine. It became home for product reviews and tutorials, crucial during 2020’s content-from-home era.
Enter: The Matchmaker
The love story begins here, with a matchmaker.
Through iJustine, I met Kevin Bourke of Puget Systems PR, who connected me with them in 2021. Soon, a package arrived.
Inside was a Puget Systems workstation with an RTX 3090.
Creators involved in 4K know what I mean. That computer transformed my work. I wasn’t struggling with tools. I was excelling.
Meeting the Family
An impressive first impression sparked curiosity. What followed made me a believer.
I visited Puget Systems in Auburn, Washington, met the team, observed the build process, and interviewed President Jon Bach. Many employees had been there a decade or more.
That’s not by chance. That’s a company culture that fosters dedication and loyalty.
