**A Minor QoL Enhancement as We Await Nothing’s Expanded Android 16 Beta**
As we look forward to the launch of Nothing’s expanded Android 16 beta, the company has introduced a quality of life (QoL) enhancement for its AI suite on the Phone 3, Essential Space. This enhancement, revealed on August 5, aims to improve the shareability of user-generated content, specifically recordings and Memories.
**Notable Updates:**
1. **Boosted Shareability for Flip-to-Record:**
– Users can now store audio recordings or share them through platforms like Google Drive, Discord, and more.
– After making a recording, users can use the three-dot menu to locate new “Share” and “Save” options.
2. **Better Sharing for Memories:**
– Memories can now be exported as images, PDFs, or Markdown files.
– Although the captured content can be saved alongside a voice recording, the sharing feature does not include the audio clip. Instead, a snapshot of the memory is shared, featuring the image, title, and transcription.
**Nothing OS and Upcoming Updates:**
While these enhancements should automatically download to the Phone 3, users also have the option to manually install them via the Play Store when they become available. This is the second enhancement to Essential Space in the past few weeks, following the launch of “Editable Memory” and Google Calendar integration.
Looking forward, Nothing’s OS 4.0 update, driven by Android 16, is creating considerable buzz. The company has recently concluded sign-ups for its Closed Beta, which will highlight Android 16’s native features. An Open Beta is anticipated to start in September, giving users a preview of the significant Android upgrade.
