Nvidia’s DLSS 5 AI upscaling technology, which enhances game visuals with photorealistic lighting and materials, will soon be available for several PC games. This feature aims to make games appear more realistic by adjusting lighting and character appearances through artificial intelligence. Initially announced at a press conference, DLSS 5’s capabilities will begin rolling out for select games this fall.
The following games are set to support DLSS 5 soon, with more to follow:
– AION 2
– Assassin’s Creed Shadows
– Black State
– Cinder City
– Delta Force
– Hogwarts Legacy
– Justice
– Narake Bladepoint
– NTE: Neverness to Everness
– Phantom Blade Zero
– Resident Evil Requiem
– Sea of Remnants
– Starfield
– The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
– Where Winds Meet
Despite the promise of improved visuals, DLSS 5 has sparked controversy due to concerns about AI altering games’ original art direction without creators’ input. For instance, in Resident Evil Requiem, character appearances and environmental lighting can be dramatically changed, leading to different artistic experiences.
Fortunately, DLSS 5 is an optional feature, not enabled by default in supporting games.
