Today’s Connections: Sports Edition is designed for tennis enthusiasts. As we’ve previously detailed, this variant of the popular New York Times word game is tailored to challenge sports fans. Similar to the original Connections, the aim is to detect “common threads between words.” Like Wordle, Connections resets post-midnight, presenting increasingly complex word sets each day. We’ve got some hints to help you navigate these challenges. If you’re only interested in today’s solution, skip to the article’s end for the answer. Otherwise, continue for clues, tips, and strategies.
What is Connections: Sports Edition?
NYT’s newest word game, launched with The Athletic, focuses on sports coverage. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile, requiring players to identify four words that share a common bond. Each puzzle includes 16 words split into four categories. While many words might seem related, only one combination is correct. Successfully group four words, and they’re removed from the board. Errors are limited to four before the game concludes.
Players can rearrange the board to better spot connections. Each category is color-coded: yellow is easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
