Oracle Outage Disrupts US TikTok Operations

TikTok’s US users might face delays when posting content due to an ongoing outage. The issue, stemming from an Oracle disruption at their Ashburn, Virginia data center, began Tuesday afternoon as Downdetector reported a surge in complaints around 1 PM Eastern. TikTok USDS acknowledged on X that users could experience temporary delays as Oracle works on a fix. This is the second disruption since January’s deal that shifted control from ByteDance to a joint venture including Oracle. The previous outage, which affected video uploads and feeds, resulted from a power failure at another Oracle facility.
