the passing of Spock (Leonard Nimoy) in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” was so impactful that it was unfortunately duplicated many years later in “Star Trek Into Darkness.” The same cannot be claimed for William Shatner’s departure in “Star Trek Generations,” which concluded with an “Oh my,” leaving fans to respond with a united “Oh dear.” For such a legendary character in the series, Kirk deserved a better farewell, yet even after pondering his exit, Shatner has acknowledged that he wouldn’t alter it if given an opportunity.

While speaking to Cinema Blend about the former “Twilight Zone” star and “Star Trek” legend, he was asked if he’d consider revisiting Kirk’s death. “Probably not. The moment’s over. It’s done. I did the best I could,” he stated. Even though Shatner appeared quite resolute on this, he was inquired if he’d rethink it, considering the advancements in de-aging actors and digitally redoing scenes.

“I would like to have another couple of shots at it. But, and then when I say this is what I meant, I’ve heard people say just actually just before you came on. No, no, I got that. That’s what I got. So, you know, it enters the area. Uh, b******t. Sounds cruel. This is the area of fantasy.” However, while a more flamboyant exit might have been desirable, the one aspect Shatner nailed was Kirk’s final words, which he improvised while shooting.
