I’ve got 734 reasons to avoid spending $1000 next month.
I’ve come across numerous excellent offers during this year’s 4-day Prime Day event, but realistically, the most worthwhile deals are those that provide savings both now and in the future. For instance, this Google Pixel 9 Pro offer that will save you $265 and provide you with a fantastic phone without the need to wait for Google to unveil the next model.
The Pixel 9 Pro was named phone of the year 2024 at Android Central due to its remarkable power-to-size ratio. Typically, smaller phones receive lesser specs because manufacturers struggle to fit all the high-quality cameras or most powerful processors into a compact design, but that was not the case with the Pixel 9 Pro. It boasted all the features of the larger Pixel 9 Pro XL, all at a more affordable price and a size that fits comfortably in your pocket.
Although we anticipate Google to reveal the Pixel 10 series within the next month or so, all indications suggest that the Pixel 10 Pro will retail for no less than $1,000 upon its launch. Personally, I’d prefer to secure a fantastic phone now and save a significant amount of money rather than wait for a potential upgrade with only slightly improved specifications.
At times, holding off for the next generation before making a buying choice is wise. However, all rumors and leaks indicate that the Pixel 10 Pro will be an exceptionally iterative upgrade over the Pixel 9 Pro, to the extent that I believe it’s not worth delaying if you’re in the market for purchasing phones outright.
From what we’ve gathered, the design is expected to remain the same, the camera hardware won’t differ, the display likely won’t change, and while Google is transitioning manufacturers for the Tensor G5 chipset in the Pixel 10, speculation suggests that it is unlikely to be a substantial improvement over the Tensor G4 found in the Pixel 9.
Android 16 will soon be launched for Pixel users, making Pixels the first phones to receive the latest version of the world’s most popular operating system, complete with exciting new features, and you can look forward to this happening annually until support concludes in August 2031. Additionally, don’t forget that Pixel 9 Pro owners are entitled to a complimentary year of the new Google AI Pro subscription!
All this provides plenty of reasons to keep that $265 and opt for a Pixel 9 Pro now instead of waiting for the Pixel 10 Pro.
