What we know
Even though nothing has been officially confirmed yet, a continuous flow of leaks and rumors hint that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be disclosed during an Unpacked event in July. This aligns with previous years, as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was first announced on July 10th, 2024, with a release on July 24th.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to be introduced alongside the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip 7, and we should also receive a launch date for the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. There’s a possibility that Samsung will surprise us with an early glimpse of its triple-folding Galaxy G Fold, although information on that device is still limited.
In terms of specifications, the high-end foldable is expected to incorporate the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset found in the Galaxy S25 series, alongside a new and enhanced “creaseless foldable panel,” two vibrant AMOLED screens, and the slimmest design of any Z Fold model thus far.

Will the Z Fold 6 decrease in price?

These promotions are likely intended to clear inventory ahead of the Z Fold 7’s launch, and with Amazon Prime Day quickly approaching (also planned for early July), it seems unlikely that many Z Fold 6 units will remain when the new foldable phone ultimately arrives.
In other words, I would recommend purchasing a phone right before its successor releases rather than immediately thereafter. While it’s possible that the Z Fold 6 may see a permanent price reduction upon the release of its successor, it’s equally probable that it will be largely out of stock by then (unless you’re okay with a refurbished option). In summary, if you’re interested in unlocked phone deals, Amazon Prime Day 2025 will be the optimal time to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Despite soon being replaced by the Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 continues to rank among the top foldable phones available, featuring a robust Snapdragon chipset, two stunning 120Hz AMOLED displays, and outstanding battery performance. The drawback is that the phone is also quite pricey, but with a new generation on the horizon, that situation may change soon.
