Products Not Anticipated to Be Revealed by Apple at September Event

Apple is set to hold its largest event of the year on September 9. New iPhone 17 variants, Apple Watch Ultra 3, AirPods Pro 3, and additional announcements are anticipated. Nonetheless, several soon-to-be-released Apple items are not expected to be showcased during this event.

### New Macs

It is rare for Macs to be highlighted at Apple’s September gathering, as new models are usually saved for October or November launches. Last year marked the introduction of the M4 MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac at the end of October, while 2023 welcomed the M3 MacBook Pro in late October. This year, it seems there might not be any new Macs debuting throughout the fall. Reports indicate that the M5 MacBook Pro is almost ready but is not set to arrive until early 2026. A new Mac Pro is also anticipated, although its release timing remains unclear. Should any Macs unexpectedly appear, it is likely to be in October or later.

### ‘HomePad’ / HomePod Touch

Apple aims to boost its home product range, with the much-speculated ‘HomePad’ (possibly branded as HomePod Touch) being a key element of that initiative. However, its release is not expected until 2026. Initially, a March 2025 launch was intended, but delays surrounding Siri’s AI redesign have shifted this to a spring 2026 timeframe.

### AirPods Max or AirPods 4 Successors

Although Apple typically reveals new AirPods models during its September event, this year is predicted to center on the AirPods Pro 3. However, there are no signs of updates for the more budget-friendly AirPods 4 or the premium AirPods Max. AirPods 4 were just introduced last year, so a significant revision isn’t likely until 2026 at the earliest. Even though AirPods Max are behind in features relative to other models, no new hardware is expected in the near future.

### Wildcards: M5 iPad Pro, New Apple TV 4K, More

Alongside the iPhone 17 series, new Apple Watch models, and AirPods Pro 3, numerous other products are speculated for a fall launch. However, it is unclear whether they will be unveiled at the September event or deferred to later in October or November. Possible wildcard items include the M5 iPad Pro and a new Apple TV 4K. Some of these products, such as AirTag 2, could serve as compatible accessories for the iPhone. Nonetheless, with the spotlight on four new iPhones, three new Apple Watch models, and AirPods Pro 3, it appears improbable that there will be space for additional announcements.
