Reports Suggest That Apple’s iPhone 18 Launch May Omit an Unexpected Model

The iPhone 17 reveal is just weeks away, and speculation regarding the iPhone 18 is heating up. A fresh report supports earlier assertions that the iPhone 18 launch lineup will omit a surprisingly significant model.

## Entry-Level iPhone 18 Will Allegedly Not Be Included in Fall 2026 Launch Lineup

Following several years of largely consistent iPhone lineups year after year, Apple has substantial changes planned starting this autumn.

The iPhone 17 range will introduce a new ultra-slim ‘Air’ model that replaces the Plus version and could attract many regular Pro users.

However, next year will bring even more model alterations. Over the weekend, ET News confirmed a claim we’ve encountered before.

According to their report, next year’s iPhone 18 launch will be devoid of an unexpected model: the entry-level iPhone 18.

An iPhone 18 debut without an iPhone 18? That’s correct.

Apple is anticipated to adopt an ultra-premium approach with the fall lineup, presenting four high-end variants:

– iPhone 18 Air
– iPhone 18 Pro
– iPhone 18 Pro Max
– iPhone 18 Fold

The entry-level iPhone 18 isn’t being completely eliminated. Instead, it will simply be deferred from the fall lineup and launch the subsequent spring.

Insights from Wayne Ma and Ming-Chi Kuo have previously detailed these lineup modifications.

And now ET News indicates that Apple has already begun informing certain suppliers about the adjustment so they can prepare accordingly.

This serves as the most recent evidence of a significant shift on the horizon, with Apple reportedly launching only premium iPhones in the fall, trailing with more budget-friendly models in the spring.

In this instance, that means the entry-level iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will debut in spring 2027, following a fall 2026 launch of the remaining iPhone 18 assortment.
