Samsung is preparing for the debut of its awaited Galaxy XR headset, as shown by recent modifications to its Camera Assistant app on Galaxy devices. The update brings a “3D capture” option, suggesting the ability to produce spatial photos and videos tailored for the Galaxy XR headset. While the feature isn’t fully functional yet, it represents a major advance towards the headset’s launch.
The Galaxy XR headset, internally referred to as Project Moohan, is believed to be announced on September 29, with a possible release in mid-October in South Korea. The headset is anticipated to be priced between $1,800 and $2,800, positioning it as a viable competitor to Apple’s Vision Pro, which is listed at $3,500.
Samsung’s XR headset was presented at Google’s I/O event earlier this year, garnering acclaim for its visual fidelity and user-friendly navigation. With the release likely mere weeks away, excitement is mounting for Samsung’s foray into the XR realm.
