Samsung has officially unveiled the launch of AirDrop support through Quick Share, commencing with the Galaxy S26 series. This feature will be accessible from March 23, starting in Korea, with a following introduction in the United States and other areas later that week, including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.
AirDrop via Quick Share was initially launched on Google Pixel 10 devices in late 2025 and has since been extended to the Pixel 9 series. Unlike the default configuration on Pixel devices, Samsung’s version necessitates users to activate a specific setting within Quick Share to share files with Apple devices. Users need to choose “Share with Apple devices” and confirm that both Galaxy and iPhone users have their devices configured to “Everyone” mode for successful file transfers.
Samsung has stated that more Galaxy devices will gain this feature in the future, though no precise timeline has been disclosed. This advancement indicates a wider trend of integrating AirDrop-like functionalities throughout the Android ecosystem, with other manufacturers, such as Oppo, also intending to roll out similar support shortly.
The launch of AirDrop through Quick Share signifies a notable improvement in cross-platform file sharing capabilities for Samsung users, enabling simpler and more effective sharing of files between Galaxy devices and Apple products.
