Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, and Sarah Bond, president and COO of Xbox, are leaving the company. Asha Sharma will take over as EVP and CEO of Gaming, with Matt Booty promoted to EVP and chief content officer. These changes come amid Microsoft’s shifts in Xbox strategy, including integrating Windows and Xbox and focusing on devices like the Xbox Ally handheld. The company is also dealing with challenges in its Xbox business. Bond, who joined Microsoft in 2017 and became Xbox president in 2023, is leaving to pursue a new chapter. Spencer praised Bond’s contributions to Xbox.
