Significant Camera Enhancement Launched for Nothing Phone 3

Have a Nothing Phone 3? Your camera, battery, and Wi-Fi just got enhancements with a new update.

Nothing is deploying a new update for the Nothing Phone 3, and it’s certainly worth downloading. The fresh build, labeled Nothing OS V3.5-250911-2112, is now reaching devices and includes a significant camera revamp along with several stability improvements and tweaks that should enhance daily usage.

While Android 16 and Nothing OS 4.0 are still forthcoming, this update keeps the Phone 3 competitive in the interim. You’ll see the most noticeable improvements in the camera (via 9to5Google). This update provides enhanced control over the camera’s manual exposure, allowing adjustments to be more accurate and responsive. It also resolves an existing issue with color casts, resulting in photos that display truer, more balanced colors in any lighting condition.

AI SuperRes Zoom now makes zoomed-in text appear clearer, and Action Mode reduces noise and grain for sharper action shots. Even third-party camera apps are achieving clearer outputs now. On the video front, contrast has been enhanced, haze minimized, and colors appear more vibrant, making clips more engaging during playback.

Under-the-hood enhancements

Nothing didn’t stop at camera improvements. The update addresses a few irritating bugs and refines certain elements across the interface.

The Glyph Matrix feature functions better when utilizing multi-user mode along with Always-on Glyph Toys, and a troublesome bug that duplicated contact avatars when creating new Essential Notification rules has been fixed.

Haptic feedback is functioning normally again when previewing Generative notifications, and alignment problems with Arabic titles in the “About phone” section have been resolved. There’s also a more refined interface for Bluetooth device recording located under Settings → Sound & Vibration → Bluetooth device recording.

Moreover, the update lessens heating and battery drain in specific scenarios, while optimizing Wi-Fi connectivity and overall network reliability.

Even though this build is still grounded in Android 15, Nothing has recently hinted at its next significant upgrade: Nothing OS 4.0 based on Android 16. The update roadmap indicates that alongside the Phone 3, devices such as the Phone 3a series, Phone 2 models, and CMF Phones will all receive the upgrade.

For now, however, Phone 3 users should navigate to Settings → Software Update and download this release. With the camera enhancements, performance improvements, and better connectivity, it’s a valuable refresh ahead of the major changes to follow.
