What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s latest daily word game is in association with The Athletic. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices. Players must group four words that share something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words, divided into four categories. While multiple words might seem to fit, only one correct answer exists. Correctly grouping the words removes them from the board. Players can make up to four mistakes.

Players can shuffle the board for easier connections. Each group is color-coded, and like Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
