Spotify has rolled out a new capability for Premium subscribers, allowing them to download music remotely onto their smartwatches and various other devices. This enhancement permits users to send playlists straight to any device that is signed in, such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, or smartwatches, without requiring physical interaction with the device. This capability streamlines the management of music libraries across as many as five devices, all through the Spotify app on the user’s primary phone.
In the past, downloading music to a smartwatch required navigating the device’s small screen, which could be quite inconvenient. With the newly introduced “Download to other device” feature, transferring music is now straightforward. This functionality is especially advantageous for individuals who appreciate engaging in outdoor pursuits, as it guarantees that their preferred playlists are readily available, even if their smartwatch is out of reach.
Spotify’s update further enhances the oversight of downloads across devices. Users can now identify which devices have a specific playlist saved offline and better manage their limit of five devices. This feature is presently accessible on Samsung devices with One UI 7 and Galaxy Watches operating on Wear OS 5.0, with a gradual rollout expected for additional devices.
