Spotify unveils a new “Jam” feature for Android users to work together on music playlists.

Spotify has launched an exciting new feature known as “Jam” for users of Android Auto, enabling multiple passengers in a vehicle to add to a collective music queue. This update allows the host to initiate a Jam session, with guests able to join by scanning a QR code shown on the car’s display. This feature is included in Spotify’s version 9.0.58.596 for Android, improving the in-car music experience by allowing everyone present to share their favorite songs.

Alongside the Jam feature, Spotify has introduced a variety of additional updates. There’s a fresh “Downloaded” section within the Library for offline music, simplifying access to downloaded tracks. Users will also see indicators that differentiate downloaded songs from regular ones and a floating Search shortcut to streamline navigation.

These enhancements are in line with Google’s recent announcements regarding Android Auto, highlighting Spotify’s dedication to elevating user experiences on the platform. Additionally, Spotify is rumored to be working on launching a Lossless audio feature, which has been eagerly awaited since its announcement in 2021. This feature is anticipated to debut soon, further enriching Spotify’s offerings for audiophiles.
