Essential information to consider
- For the very first time, a Nintendo Switch emulator is accessible for download on the Google Play Store.
- Eden, a variant of the now-defunct Yuzu emulator, has been gradually gaining traction within the emulation community.
- It wouldn’t be surprising if Nintendo soon attempts to have it removed.
In the past year and a half, the Nintendo Switch emulation landscape has faced significant upheaval. It began when Nintendo eliminated two of the most widely used emulators: Yuzu and Ryujinx. Consequently, several new forks have emerged to try to fill the gap.
None of them, including Yuzu or Ryujinx, were ever made available on the Play Store, until now. Eden, a Switch emulator derived from Yuzu, has apparently been listed on the Play Store since at least August 19. It somehow went unnoticed until a user in the r/EmulationOnAndroid subreddit discovered it.
