Apple’s Android-compatible headphones are showing their age but still serve as a reliable mid-range option. Earlier this week, Apple announced the AirPods Max 2 with an H2 chip offering new features. However, they lack the cross-OS compatibility of Beats headphones like the Beats Studio Pro, currently available on Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy for around $169.95 as part of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale. Despite their design dating back to 2017, the Beats Studio Pro remains a solid platform-agnostic choice, featuring one-touch pairing for both iOS and Android, support for Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub, Siri access for Apple users, head-tracking spatial audio, and seamless audio switching for Android users. While the sound quality may not match newer models like Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra or Sony’s WH-1000XM6, the 40mm drivers offer a balanced sound. The headphones support lossless playback over USB-C, though the noise cancellation and transparency modes deactivate during USB-C playback.
