Ethereum, a decentralized blockchain platform, was established by Vitalik Buterin and Gavin Wood in 2015. Its native token, Ether, fuels transactions and operations on the Ethereum network. Advocates of Ethereum foresee it as the base for a secondary platform layer, L2, where decentralized applications will operate.
As Ethereum nears its 10th anniversary, we explored the technology’s progress by talking to Andrew Koller, an engineer at Kraken, a software company and well-known cryptocurrency exchange. In our discussion, Andrew elaborated on Kraken, exchange security considerations, Ethereum’s history, L2, and Ethereum’s future.
Sean, an academic, startup founder, and former Googler, currently serves as an AI Entrepreneur in Residence at Confluent, focusing on AI strategy and thought leadership. Connect with Sean on LinkedIn.
