Amazon is preparing for its third annual Big Spring Sale from March 25 to 31. While the event is mainly about seasonal essentials, tech deals, including Apple products, have previously been featured. With Apple’s recent refresh and expansion of its MacBook lineup earlier this month, it’s expected Amazon will focus on clearing out remaining last-gen models.
Leading up to the sale, great deals are already available on M4 MacBook Airs and Pros. Amazon’s biggest discount so far is for a 15-inch M4 Air with 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which is now $300 off, reaching its lowest price ever. As Apple has discontinued M4 MacBooks, once third-party retailer supplies run out, they’ll only be available on the refurbished market.
Those who prefer a MacBook Pro with better displays, more ports, and fans to prevent thermal throttling can consider a 14-inch M5 model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage priced at $1,499.99 (approximately $200 off), another record low. The new M5 MacBook Airs and M5 Pro/Max MacBook Pros are $50 off ahead of the Big Spring Sale and this is likely the best they will offer until a potential larger discount around a summer Prime Day sale.
The budget MacBook Neo is not on sale yet, and it’s unlikely to be discounted once the event begins, given its affordability as it stands. A good MacBook Neo deal remains elusive.
Best MacBook Air deal: The 15-inch M4 MacBook Air retains significant capabilities with a $300 discount at $1,299 on Amazon. Its multitasking and video editing performance surpasses many other models, including pricier Windows laptops. The Air features a 12MP Center Stage webcam, Liquid Retina display, and an 18-hour battery life comparable to the newer M5 counterpart, albeit with slightly faster performance and updated wireless connectivity.
