Height verification on dating apps is now a reality with Tenr, turning Tinder’s 2019 prank into fact. Launched in 2026, the matchmaking app Tenr uses Apple’s Measure app and iPhone’s LiDAR scanner for accurate height verification, within an inch. Founder Adam Moelis emphasizes Tenr’s focus on authenticity, minimizing lengthy dates to ten minutes for quick assessments of chemistry, aided by AI in screening though not as a primary feature. The app’s height verification feature has been met with surprising acceptance, with over 700 users verifying their heights, amidst nearly 6,000 total sign-ups. Tenr also offers a “Wingman” feature for friends to assist users with photo selections and testimonials. Despite the height verification’s uniqueness, Moelis acknowledges the ongoing societal fixation on height in dating.
