# My Preferred Technology: A Fusion of Apple and Non-Apple Gadgets
In terms of favored technology, Apple earns a twofold praise from me. My MacBook Pro stands out as my most crucial tech item, and the Apple ecosystem is fundamentally essential to my perspective on a variety of tasks, encompassing both work and leisure. Nevertheless, I possess several non-Apple devices that function as significant accessories or standalone gadgets in their own right.
## My Top Apple Gadgets
Regarding Apple technology, very few devices fail to make my top ten list.
### 1. 16-inch MacBook Pro

If I had to choose just one Apple product, it would be this one. I’m a fan of large screens. For me, nothing compares to having extensive screen space and a full-sized keyboard. At home, a MacBook is the first device I reach for whenever I need to engage in something that requires more than a few minutes.
### 2. iPhone 16 Pro Max

### 3. Original HomePods
My [original HomePods](https://9to5mac.com/guides/homepod-diary/) rank very high on my list as well. The audio performance is simply remarkable for their size, and I appreciate being able to issue a Siri command from anywhere in my house and have one of the speakers acknowledge it and respond.
### 4. M1 MacBook Air

### 5. 49-inch Dell UltraSharp Monitor
I realize some MacBook users are horrified at the idea of sacrificing display quality that rivals print. Others would never consider doing any photo or video work on anything short of a professionally calibrated monitor. For my photo and video activities, a reasonably high-end professional yet non-calibrated monitor suffices. What has the most significant impact for me is screen width. My 49-inch curved ultra-wide Dell monitor is undoubtedly one of my top tech favorites.
### 6. Ikea Sit-Stand Desk
I was [a late convert](https://9to5mac.com/2024/10/04/switching-to-a-sit-stand-desk-was-a-game-changer-for-me/) to a sit-stand desk, initially skeptical that the trend would soon lose its appeal. However, since committing to it almost a year ago, it has become one of my most cherished pieces of technology. I truly enjoy the capacity to alternate between sitting and standing simply by pressing one of the memory buttons.
### 7. Kindle
I adore books. I once had over 2,000 of them adorning my bookshelves, but while I still cherish the feel of physical books, I’m just as content to read them on a Kindle. Viture claims that the image displayed from the latest Luma Pro model is equivalent to a 150-inch television. It’s an excellent method for viewing a movie or TV show in bed or while traveling by plane or train.
### 9. Philips Hue Lighting
If I had to select one segment of smart home technology, it would undoubtedly be Philips Hue Lighting. I find that blue or purple lighting provides a delightful high-tech ambiance, while switching to orange creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
