In the recent wave of “AI taking over jobs,” Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s English translator claims that Czech-based Warhorse Studios plans to use AI for translations, rendering his position unnecessary.

Max Hejtmánek, the game’s long-time English translator, announced his layoff in a Reddit post titled “Fired from Warhorse Studios and replaced with AI.” Moderators verified his identity, and his updated LinkedIn profile shows he no longer works for Warhorse.

His post reveals many people’s fears, especially in creative sectors: “Yesterday, March 27th 2026, without warning, I was called into a meeting and informed that, to ‘make the company more effective’ and ‘save finances,’ my job would become ‘obsolete’ in favor of AI translations.”

Hejtmánek had been with Warhorse Studios since 2022, translating from Czech to English. His layoff highlights how AI is disrupting creative industries, raising questions about AI’s role in art. While AI can quickly and cheaply translate and create art, replacing humans could devalue the final product and challenge art’s purpose.

Hejtmánek addressed this issue in his post: “I want you to know how AI impacts those in the games industry and beyond, and how much the game company values its employees.”

Today a translator was replaced, but what’s next? The story writers? The designers? The voice actors? How many roles will AI take before the whole concept is questioned? What does it say about a company eager to replace humans with AI?
