Trump warns Netflix of ‘consequences’ if it doesn’t fire board member Susan Rice

In a social media post on Saturday, President Donald Trump stated that Netflix will face consequences if it doesn’t dismiss Susan Rice, a member of its board of directors since 2018. Rice, a former U.S. ambassador and advisor under the Obama and Biden administrations, appeared on the podcast “Stay Tuned with Preet,” predicting accountability for corporations aligning with Trump when Democrats regain power. Trump responded on Truth Social, calling for Netflix to “fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences,” questioning her skills and remuneration. His post included a screenshot condemning Rice from far-right activist Laura Loomer and alleged that the Netflix-Warner Bros. merger, involving the Obamas through their production company Higher Ground, could lead to a streaming monopoly. Although Trump didn’t specify the consequences, Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Bros. requires federal approval. Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos previously discussed the deal with Trump, who commented on the company’s market share. Last fall, Trump similarly demanded Microsoft dismiss global affairs president Lisa Monaco, who remains with the company despite Loomer’s criticism.
