The Galaxy S25 Edge might be the hot new phone, but there could be another Galaxy device that makes for a wiser Prime Day purchase.
Thin is once again in style, and the Galaxy S25 Edge fulfills a desire that many users have been trying to satisfy for years. Nevertheless, despite its new design and appealing Prime Day discount, I still believe it’s too much for too little. But what if I mentioned there’s an even better Prime Day offer on a superior phone?
The Galaxy S25 Plus debuted at the start of the year as the middle option of the S25 lineup, featuring a large design, plenty of impressive specifications, and a relatively steep $999 price point. However, this Prime Day deal cuts that price by $300, putting this outstanding AI phone in the mid-range Android category. And while it’s slightly less than the Edge’s discount, you still end up spending hundreds less!
The Galaxy S25 Plus demonstrated that it’s worth its $999 price tag, but a $300 discount brings it down to its lowest price since its release, and it’s honestly too enticing to ignore, even with the newer Galaxy S25 Edge also on sale.
✅Recommended if: You desire a phone with a sizable display, excellent battery longevity, a telephoto lens, and all the AI features imaginable.
❌Skip this deal if: You don’t appreciate good deals, because this is a fantastic price for the Galaxy S25 Plus!
The Plus surpasses the Edge
The Galaxy S25 Edge might be Samsung’s latest and finest among its premium S series smartphones, yet its main (and really only) attraction is its thinness. At 5.8mm, it’s Samsung’s slimmest flagship phone to date, but the company had to make some trade-offs to achieve this.
To begin with, the battery is 1,000mAh smaller than that in the Galaxy S25 Plus. Moreover, unlike the Galaxy S25 Plus, which has a triple camera system including a 3x telephoto lens, the Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with just a two-camera setup. Sure, the 200MP primary camera is impressive, but nothing rivals the flexibility of a dedicated telephoto lens.
That said, as far as thickness is concerned, while using the Galaxy S25 Plus, I never found myself thinking, “I wish this phone were thinner.” At 7.3mm, the phone already appears sufficiently thin and feels wonderful in hand.
This is why I consider the Galaxy S25 Plus to be the superior purchase for Prime Day. It feels like the better device, and with Prime Day discounts on both, it ends up being more than $200 less expensive than the Edge. Additionally, it comes in a beautiful Navy blue color that nicely complements the AI features.
However, if you must have Samsung’s ultra-slim Edge, it’s currently available for over $300 off, which is quite a deal for a newly released phone.
✅Recommended if: You want one of the latest Samsung devices with a large screen and an incredibly thin and lightweight frame.
❌Skip this deal if: You require excellent battery life and a telephoto camera at this price, or if you simply don’t mind having a thin phone that costs nearly as much as the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
