The app now offers turn-by-turn navigation to your gate along with an estimated walking time. United Airlines has updated its mobile apps for iOS and Android to include estimated security wait times at all its US hub airports. This change comes in response to the ongoing partial government shutdown affecting TSA staffing. The airports include Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York / Newark, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, covering both standard security and TSA PreCheck lines. Other enhancements for travelers include personalized directions with travel time, notifications if flights can be delayed for tight connections, and weather impact alerts. The app also provides tools for rebooking, meal and hotel voucher requests, and features a bag tracker. United announced improvements in luggage tracking, allowing passengers to share luggage locations with an Apple AirTag. The airline initially supported Apple’s Share Item Location in December 2024 after Apple’s announcement of the feature.
