Xiaomi took a considerable amount of time to reveal the original clamshell model last year, known as the Mix Flip. Now, its successor Mix Flip 2 is being teased, and it appears to have also made an appearance on Geekbench, disclosing its chipset and additional information.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav on X (previously Twitter) has posted what seems to be the first teaser image (sourced from Weibo) of the Flip 2 alongside potential Geekbench results of the purported clamshell device from the brand.
According to the teaser image, the next iteration is likely to retain a design language similar to the Mix Flip, featuring a prominent cover display with substantial primary cameras (powered by Leica) placed over the top of the screen. While the colors shown in the teaser appear standard, users can expect some sort of texture or design pattern for enhanced aesthetics.
The rumored device is internally labeled Xiaomi 2505APX7BC — it achieved a single-core score of 2835 and a multi-core score of 8550 on the latest Geekbench assessment conducted on Monday (June 23).
The device operates on Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the same SoC utilized in many of the leading Android phones available today.
It is promising to see Xiaomi selecting the octa-core CPU for the second version of the clamshell device, mirroring its previous flagship models, such as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The forthcoming clamshell from Xiaomi is anticipated to come with no less than 12GB of RAM and Android 15 pre-installed.
Powerhouse in a clamshell:
According to the latest details from Weibo, the Mix Flip 2 is projected to debut as early as June 26 and is rumored to launch globally in tandem with China. The main folding screen is said to be 6.85 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate. The external display is expected to be 4.01 inches, providing support for most apps without needing to frequently open the clamshell.
Both primary cameras are anticipated to be 50MP each, and the device should likely feature either a 5100mAh or 5600mAh battery capacity depending on regional specifications. Furthermore, it is reported to support 67W fast charging alongside 50W wireless charging.
With the suggested launch date, it seems Xiaomi is poised to introduce the Mix Flip 2 just ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7, which now has an official launch date set for July 9.
