ChatGPT is a widely-used AI tool for content creation, but it misses a capability found in Google’s Gemini: Audio Overviews. This feature, which comes from NotebookLM, enables Google to transform research projects into podcasts. Users can hear discussions between two AI hosts on the subject and even engage by asking questions. This audio format may offer a more captivating experience than reading reports. While ChatGPT lacks this functionality, users can export Deep Research PDFs and incorporate them into the NotebookLM app.
Google is improving this feature by embedding it directly into Google Search. At present, Google Search includes two AI features: AI Overviews, which delivers quick details but is often noted for its inaccuracies, and AI Mode, a chatbot-like interaction available solely in the US. Audio Overviews will mark the third AI feature, accessible through Google Labs for experimentation.
