A few weeks following the introduction of the initial beta of iOS 26, Apple is set to advance with the beta cycle, having just launched its second testing version. At this point, it’s uncertain what changes come with this software update. Nevertheless, developers are expected to notice significant enhancements in overall stability and bug fixes. Additionally, Apple is likely to continue refining the new design and features.
The primary modification in iOS 26 beta 2 is the Liquid Glass aesthetic. The company describes it as “stunning, enjoyable, and instantly recognizable.” With this redesign, every aspect appears altered, from the Lock Screen to the Home Screen, Control Center, apps, and beyond. Apple has streamlined the navigation to assist users in concentrating on the content, allowing them to select between new light and dark themes, color-enhanced icons, and a fresh transparent appearance.
Along with the new design, iOS 26 beta 2 also works on enhancing the Phone and Messages applications. With this forthcoming software update, users will be able to handle unwanted calls and utilize Hold Assist so the iPhone notifies you when a live representative is available to speak, while iMessage users can create polls and personalized backgrounds for their chats.
Apple has also made strides in improving Apple Music functionalities, having introduced new AutoMix, Lyrics Translation, Lyrics Pronunciation, and auto-pin favorite songs features. Furthermore, CarPlay users will receive multiple new functionalities, as the updated iOS 26 design will dominate your infotainment display.
Concerning Apple Intelligence features, iOS 26 beta 2 continues to enhance the new experiences, including Live Translation, Image Playground, Genmoji, and the newly AI-driven Shortcuts app.
Beta 2 of iOS 26 is available in conjunction with the second testing versions of iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26.
