Prime Video is preparing to launch an exhilarating new series, “Butterfly,” which has the potential to become its next major success after “Reacher.” Featuring Daniel Dae Kim, recognized for his performances in “Lost” and “Hawaii Five-O,” the series offers a captivating spy storyline interwoven with family themes and the ramifications of past choices lingering in the present. Kim portrays David Jung, a former U.S. intelligence operative residing in South Korea, whose previous decisions place him at risk from a young agent of a clandestine spy organization. “Butterfly” delves into identity, redemption, and the personal sacrifices tied to a life in espionage, reflecting the gripping tone of other Prime Video successes like “Reacher” and “The Terminal List.”

The series will be exclusively available on Prime Video, with all six episodes debuting on August 13. Daniel Dae Kim not only stars but also takes on the role of an executive producer, striving to merge American and Korean creative talents. The ensemble includes Reina Hardesty, Piper Perabo, and Louis Landau, complemented by prominent South Korean actors Park Hae-soo, Kim Ji-hoon, and Kim Tae-hee. Created by Ken Woodruff and novelist Steph Cha, “Butterfly” is inspired by a graphic novel by Arash Amel from BOOM! Studios.
